Today Cirrus Aircraft introduced CMX™, a worldwide service program to easily manage and effectively control the costs of maintenance for 2009 Cirrus aircraft.
With purchase of a new Cirrus Aircraft, CMX is now available as a customer selected option. Cirrus assures that the cost of maintaining an airplane will be as forecast by Conklin and de Decker, the acknowledged industry-wide leader for developing and tracking aircraft maintenance cost data.
Chairman Alan Klapmeier noted “Predictable ownership costs and Cirrus’ management of maintenance services removes a significant anxiety associated with aircraft ownership and operation. This is part of Cirrus’ continuing mission to broaden participation in general aviation – bringing more people, previously unfamiliar with owning an airplane, into the fold.”
Patrick Waddick, Executive Vice President of Operations, added, “CMX will give us insight into a customer’s view of maintenance and aircraft ownership in general. At the end of the day it will allow us to bring more robust products to Cirrus customers.”
CMX is simple, “You supply the fluids; we take care of the rest.” CMX is purchased in 100-hour increments and is available for the first two or three years of ownership, depending on warranty period selected. Hourly charges range from about $31 for an SR20 up to about $37 for a TURBO model. The benefit to the Cirrus owner is that as a CMX participant, he or she is assured exactly “average” scheduled maintenance costs of the airplane while in the CMX program.
All maintenance is performed within Cirrus‘ Worldwide Authorized Service Center network and CMX requires an initial registration and sign-up fee ($2,900 for an SR20; $3,900 for SR22 and TURBO models).
